La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Chelsea could make a new attempt to get Denzel Dumfries from Inter if Marcos Alonso joins Barcelona.

The Dutch wing-back is one of the Blues’ targets, but according to Gazzetta, Inter are unwilling to sell for less than €40-50m.

Negotiations between the two clubs didn’t last long earlier this summer because the Premier League giants didn’t want to meet the Nerazzurri’s asking price.

However, according to Gazzetta, the situation could change during the next two weeks as Chelsea are expected to send Marcos Alonso to Barcelona.

Dumfries scored a late winner in Inter’s 2-1 win over Lecce on Saturday. Simone Inzaghi doesn’t want to part ways with any of his stars and has insisted that no players will leave in the last two weeks of the summer transfer window, as agreed with club directors.

The Serie A giants could still sell their youngster Cesare Casadei to Chelsea, given their need to balance the books.
