Former Milan striker Marco Simone hits out at Hakan Calhanoglu, saying he wouldn’t even have offered him €300,000.

Calhanoglu joined Inter from Milan on a free transfer, becoming the first player after Antonio Cassano in 2012 to swap the Rossoneri with the Nerazzurri.

The 27-year-old signed a three-year, €5m-a-year deal and the defending Serie A title holders announced his signing yesterday.

During an interview with OCW Sport on Twitch, Simone, who is currently the coach of Châteauroux, in France’s third division, proved to be not too impressed by the move of the Turkey international.

“I have no problems to say what I think. I am a professional coach and I shouldn’t say this, but I wouldn’t even have offered him €300,000 after taxes.

“Perhaps I could have offered him €300,000 gross.

Simone scored 75 goals in 260 games with Milan in the 90s. He also played with PSG scoring 32 goals in 80 matches.
