UEFA have confirmed that Polish referee Szymon Marciniak has been selected to officiate the upcoming Champions League final between Inter and Manchester City at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on June 10.

The 42-year-old is most notable for having refereed the World Cup final between Argentina and France in Qatar in December 2022.

Marciniak has also been a mainstay in the 2022-23 edition of the Champions League, most recently having turned out in the second leg of the semi-final between City and Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.

He has also taken charge of two of Inter’s games in the competition this season, at the Nou Camp against Barcelona in the fourth round of group stage matches, and in the second leg of the round of 16 tie against Porto back in March.

This will be the seventh time Marciniak has refereed Inter in his career, with the results in those games standing at two Inter wins, three draws and two losses.
