The Sardinians beat Fiorentina 5-2 a couple of weeks ago to fly into the top four, and Maran doesn't believe the break for international duty will have interrupted his side's rhythm.

"I don't think so, we must draw from the positive aspects [of the break]. Some players went away with their national teams, others stayed here and recalibrated."

Maran's side have so far failed to beat any of the teams promoted from Serie B over the summer, and he hopes this trend doesn't continue against Lecce.

"We need more consistency in games like this. The newly-promoted sides played with greater competitive vigour. We know that we cannot afford to give them an inch. Lecce are a team that know how to play well and create a lot of scoring opportunities.

"They are a tried and tested team. They've already taken points from both Juve and Milan. They're a team that's doing well. [Diego] Farias and [Marco] Mancosu are both good lads, but we have to focus only on ourselves.

"Nahitan Nandez has fully recovered. But Luca Ceppitelli, Daniele Ragatzu and Luca Pellegrini are all out. It won't affect our performance."
