“We are going through an unusual time of the season and need an extra boost of energy to overcome this difficult moment,” said the Coach.
“We had the chances to equalise against Inter midweek, so to bring home a precious result, and we have to build on the positives from that game.
“Giampiero Ventura’s sides are always tough, because they allow so little and tend to slow the tempo. We must be patient and not let ourselves get frustrated by their style of football. We have to set the tempo.”
Chievo sold Alberto Paloschi to Swansea City and finally have Floro Flores available after his deadline day move from Sassuolo.
“He can certainly give us a hand, though I don’t know if it’ll be from the start or off the bench. He hasn’t played much recently, so needs to find his form.
“Unfortunately at the same time as Paloschi left, we also lost Riccardo Meggiorini to injury and they were the first choice pair. Now we have to field forwards who aren’t used to playing alongside each other, so it’ll take time to find that rapport.”
Andrea Seculin made a stunning Serie A debut in goal against Inter and could be confirmed between the posts.
“It was a very positive performance, but I was not surprised after seeing him in training. Aside from his quality, he showed at San Siro that he also has a cool head on his shoulders.”
Albano Bizzarri is called up, albeit not 100 per cent fit, but Nicola Rigoni is suspended.
Simone Pepe remains sidelined with Meggiorini, Alessandro Gamberini, Perparim Hetemaj, Fabrizio Cacciatore and Mariano Izco.
Chievo squad for Torino: Bizzarri, Bressan, Seculin; Sardo, Dainelli, Frey, Spolli, Gobbi, Costa, Cesar; Radovanovic, Birsa, Castro, Pinzi, Damian; Pellissier, Floro Flores, Inglese, Mpoku
