Catania Coach Rolando Maran has refused to blame his players after their 2-1 loss to Pescara on Friday evening.

The Elefanti conceded a last minute to give away all three points, but the 49-year-old has claimed that the officials are partly to blame after they incorrectly ruled Giovanni Marchese strike as offside.

“We should have taken the lead,” he told reporters. “And if that was the case the result would be different.

“Unfortunately though, we were punished and Pescara won.

“We risked nothing, but when you do not create any chances, sometimes you will pay.

“But I cannot blame my players for the defeat, there commitment was exceptional.”
