The Flying Donkeys had taken the lead after just five minutes through Perparim Hetemaj.
Bostjan Cesar saw a potential second disallowed for a tussle with Leo Bonucci, then Paulo Dybala converted the late penalty for a challenge on Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.
“On the penalty, Cuadrado went looking for contact. That and the Cesar disallowed goal were key incidents and they both went against us,” Coach Maran told Mediaset Premium.
“We played with great courage and forced Gigi Buffon into a fantastic save. Those two incidents could’ve been judged differently.
“The performance remains and the lads had a great game in Turin. After three rounds we have seven points, so that’s a good cushion to have at this stage. We are satisfied, as we played these games the way we wanted to and all our results were fully deserved.
“At this moment we are working on finding the best attacking movements. We changed system over the summer and that work is providing results. We just have to continue along that path.”
