Cagliari Coach Rolando Maran doesn’t believe Juventus are “already thinking about the Champions League” ahead of their meeting tomorrow.

The Bianconeri have dropped just two points in Serie A this season, which came against Genoa before their first game with Manchester United.

The return takes place in Turin on Wednesday, but the Isolani can’t rely on another lapse in concentration from the Old Lady.

“We’ve prepared this match with the right motivation,” Maran assured in his pre-match Press conference.

“We know we’ll have to play the right match to respond to what the opponent will have. We have the will to stop Juventus, and we need our fans to help us do it.

“We’ll have the match with the right ferocity and courage, with a little bit of brazenness and the will to sacrifice for each other. That’s the only way we can put in a good performance.

“It might seem like Juventus are struggling in some games, but they just played a great game in Manchester.

“Unlike Empoli, we’ll face them when they’ve had a full week to prepare. We need to put in a great performance, and if we do that we could pull off something.

“We need to make intelligent runs, showing that spirit of sacrifice which distinguishes us and also interpreting the various moments of the game in the best way.

“We’ll have to suffer, and also make them suffer. People believe in us, and we need to do everything to get a result.

“I don’t think Juventus are already thinking about the Champions League, they’ve had a whole week to work.”

Cagliari will be facing Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a double against Empoli at the weekend.

“It’s really hard to limit someone like that, so I’d say the only way we can hope to stop him is by playing as a team and limiting the space.

“At the other end, [Leo] Bonucci and [Giorgio] Chiellini are two top players who have been in the national team for years, but that doesn’t mean we can’t cause them problems.

“I’m sure we’ll have our chances.”
