Rolando Maran admits Chievo earned an “incredible” 1-0 victory away to Lazio after being pinned back for most of the game.
“It was incredible in the sense that we were under a lot of pressure and the game ended up more defensive than we had intended,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
The hosts had 28 shots on target throughout the match, yet could not break down 37-year-old goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.

“My style of football is not really about sitting in our own half. We struggled with Lazio’s width and were missing quite a few players, so had to make do in the circumstances.
“It’s important in Serie A to have temperament and the lads did a great job of soaking up pressure, keeping their cool and creating some dangerous counter-attacks.
“At times you have to win like this and we had a perfect example of that. After our recent outings, the result was too important.
“There aren’t many of us in attack at the moment, so we’ll see if anything can be done there. I cannot fault the spirit of my players, though.”
