Rolando Maran has reportedly terminated his contract with Chievo, leaving him free to take charge of Cagliari.
The 54-year-old was removed from his position as Coach of the Flying Donkeys with three matches remaining of last season, with the Stadio Bentegodi club deep in relegation trouble.
Though his replacement Lorenzo D’Anna led Chievo to Serie A survival, Maran has still remained under contract with the Verona side.
He has been strongly linked with taking over at Cagliari ever since the departure of Diego Lopez from the Sardinian side.

And Sky Sport now reports that Maran has been freed from his contractual obligations with Chievo, which would have provided an obstacle to him taking the Rossoblu reins.
As such, the Italian sports news outlet believes the experienced tactician’s appointment as Cagliari’s new boss is imminent.
