The Flying Donkeys hadn’t won in Serie A since November, picking up just two points in 10 rounds.
“We went through 1,000 problems, but with a wonderful performance we rediscovered our confidence,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“Our self-belief had been lacking during this negative period, which hurt everyone, but I liked the spirit the whole team put in to consolidate the founding concepts behind this club.
“I saw the lads were anxious and I tried to reassure them. A Coach has to handle criticism, that’s part of the job.”
Emanuele Giaccherini came off the bench and transformed the game, within six minutes contributing a goal and assist for Roberto Inglese.
“Emanuele settled right in and has great qualities as a man as well as a player, so I am happy he is here to give us a hand. Inglese played through a fever last week, so he felt better today and it showed.”
