According to reports in Italy, Diego Armando Maradona’s brother Hugo has died in Monte di Procida, in the province of Naples, aged 52.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Hugo Maradona died this morning at 11.50 local time, 10.5o am in the UK.
The 52-year-old was living at Monte di Procida, in the province of Naples, and he reportedly died of cardiac arrest like his brother last year.
Hugo Maradona was born in Lanus, Argentina, in 1969. He played for Argentinos Juniors and in 1987, his brother Diego pushed Napoli to sign him.
The Partenopei secured his services and loaned him out to Ascoli, where he played 13 games.
He also played for Rayo Vallecano and Rapid Wien. He retired at the age of 40 and became a coach for just a few years.
On November 25, 2020, his brother Diego, a Napoli legend and one of the best players of all time died at his home in Tigre, Argentina.
