Diego Maradona has revealed he is willing to consider taking on an ambassadorial role at former club Napoli.

Club President Aurelio De Laurentiis has spoken of his desire for the icon to assume such a role but the Argentine says he would only do so once he has finished fighting allegations of tax fraud.

“I will talk to De Laurentiis, that is no problem,” Maradona told Tiki Taka. “I love Napoli, everyone knows that.

“At the moment I am working in Dubai and I’m very happy.

“Maybe if I can sort out my problems, I would love to come back to Italy.

“If I came back I have always said I would want to contribute a lot.

“I would like to come back to Italy as a normal person though.

“Yesterday I was a fraud, but now I feel people are starting to change their perceptions.

“Now I think they are understanding that I’m not like that because we are demonstrating with facts that the courts are wrong.”
