Diego Maradona declares Inter striker Mauro Icardi “is dead to me” after the Maxi Lopez controversy.

The Nerazzurri forward and Lopez were teammates at Atalanta, with Icardi entering into a relationship with his senior teammate’s ex-wife, Wanda, who he later married.

Since their relationship became public, Lopez has continually refused to shake hands with Icardi, and El Diego knows whose side he is on.

“Icardi doesn’t exist to me,” Maradona said on Radio Metro when asked if the Inter man should go to the Olympics.

“Icardi doesn’t exist to me,” Maradona said on Radio Metro when asked if the Inter man should go to the Olympics.

“He could be captain of the cosmos, after what happened I’m a fan of Maxi Lopez. That’s not done, brother.

“You feed him, you let him in your house and then this happens? No. Those who don’t have moral codes are dead to me.”

El Diego is a controversial character himself, as he repeatedly refused a paternity test on a child, Diego jr, who he later admitted was his son.

In addition, the Italian government declared in 2009 that the Napoli legend owed them €37 million in taxes.
