Napoli legend Diego Maradona says Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain “only scores” and is “so-so with the ball at his feet”.

The striker controversially left the Partenopei in the summer, moving to their bitter rivals after the Bianconeri activated his release clause.

“[Lionel] Messi, Higuain and [Paulo] Dybala are three great players,” Maradona told reporters outside the FIGC Hall of Fame event in Florence.

“Messi is the best, he’s untouchable with the ball at his feet. Dybala will grow and Higuain will continue to only score, he belongs to a different category [to the other two].

“With the ball at his feet he’s so-so.”

Maradona also discussed the current Napoli side, having criticised Coach Maurizio Sarri at the beginning of last season.

"[President Aurelio] De Laurentiis has invited me to the Real Madrid game.

"As for Sarri, I said what I thought of him, then he changed and I recognised my mistake.

"A Coach can put a team onto the pitch, it doesn't work and then you change and things go better. Sarri did that and picked up a lot of points.

"I really like how his Napoli plays, it's too bad that Juve are always above them. They [Juventus] got a jab in Florence though, I loved it!

"Gianluigi Buffon? He's one of the greats."
