Roma’s Kostas Manolas insists his side know their capabilities after a fine start to the season.

Despite lying in fifth place in Serie A, the Giallorossi have won nine of their first 11 matches of the campaign in what is shaping up to be an intriguing title race.

“We know what we are capable of,” Manolas told Roma’s official website. “We are Roma and we are all great players.

“We’re all important, the team can change but our attitude doesn’t.

“Let’s hope we can continue with positive results.”

The Greek defender was on the scoresheet during yesterday’s 4-2 win at Fiorentina, but he says the most important thing is for his side to keep on winning.

“The important thing is to win. It doesn’t matter who gets goals or assists.

“We needed to keep the run going against a great team.

“We thank the fans who came to support the team. We always need them and we always want a full stadium.

“They give us a great hand and help us go far.”

Manolas was asked about the differences between the Giallorossi side to finish second last season under Luciano Spalletti and the current one under Eusebio Di Francesco.

“I don’t think we were lacking concentration last year, we got 87 points.

“This year we are conceding less, that’s to the credit of the boss.

“We all work as a team, we hope to continue that way because having the best defence could give us an advantage.”
