According to multiple reports in Italy, Kostas Manolas has undergone his medicals with Olympiakos and will leave Napoli for €2-3m.

The Greece international has been struggling with playing time under Luciano Spalletti this season having only played seven games across all competitions.

Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport report the Greek defender has already undergone his medical examinations with Olympiakos where he will move for €2-3m.

An official statement by the clubs is expected in the coming hours. Manolas will sign a three-year deal.

Manolas flew to his native country earlier this week and was stopped and fined by the Guardia di Finanza after customs check at the Capodichino airport in Naples.

He was carrying a sum of money over the €20,0000 limit imposed by anti-money laundering regulations.

Manolas joined Napoli from Roma in a €36m deal in 2019.

He played 75 games with the Partenopei but failed to justify his price-tag under Carlo Ancelotti, Gennaro Gattuso and Luciano Spalletti.

Manolas will return to Italy on February 17 when his new club Olympiakos will face Atalanta in the first leg of the Europa League knockout round playoff.

  1. So much cash wasted by Napoli! Only 2 years ago they have payed more than Inter did for Skriniar.

And now at only 30 years old they are selling him for peanuts!

Remember not to buy greek players, they seem to go on holiday before they peak.

  2. Dear Inter fans,

Back in 2019, “The Greek God in Rome” was rated at over 45 millions. (He was instrumental in Roma‘s 3-0 win over Barcelona, & one of the better defenders in Italy.)
36 million was a STEAL for Napoli!

    …But wait for it…

…Napoli actually paid for Kostas less than 15 million!
DIAWARA (rated at 20 million –LOL) was added to the deal.

(The “Roma’s 3-0 win over Barcelona” part is irrelevant, but I love saying “Roma’s 3-0 win over Barcelona”.😄 That night was magical.)

  3. Diawara is 24 years old, still at Roma and valued €14m for the moment (while not playing). Not saying he is worth the 20m, but certainly has resale value.

Milan payed €3.68m for Simon Kjær and he still delivers at 32 years old.

  4. *Diawara was rated at 21 million. His actual market value then was 15 million.
    –Fabulous business by Roma!

(Every year Roma had to earn 36 million before July because of FFP, losing amazing players for around that sum. Other teams knew that & took advantage of it –even Liverpool tried to sign Salah for only 36 million.😔)

(Also, in 2018 Roma beat Messi’s Barcelona 3-0, throwing the SL club out of CL!😛)

  5. @I MISS 🐄 IN SERIE B

    Didn’t see your comment…

Good luck selling Amadou, even at 7 million!

PS: Guess how much Roma sold Radja to Inter for?
38 million. Again, to meet the FFP.
Santon (in that deal) was valued at 9.5 mil🙃 so that number could be achieved.
Also, one of the Inter kids was added, valued at 4,5 mil. I forgot his name😛😁.

  6. PSS: Diawara is actually a good kid. He even had a great period under Fonseca.
I don’t know why Paolo suddenly stopped using him..? Together with Mourinho they completely shattered his confidence. –Poor Amadou is a shadow of a player now.😔

  7. The problem with Greek players is that they are Greek. You can’t have the life you have in Greece as a professional football player in other countries. Fun, fame and glory. Plus the benefits of the weather and the islands

  8. @ROMAntic : Ausilio is an idiot ….who pays 26 million + Zaniolo for a 30 year old drunk ? and the best is that Radu was Roma‘s first choice and Inter said no and offered Zaniolo instead while they are looking at Onana for the future ! But then again what do you expect from a guy that spent 115 million on Gabigol+Kandogbia+Joao Mario but the best is that for that masterstroke Ausilio got a contract Extension !!!!!!!!!

  9. @I MISS MARCO BRANCA

    Now, now…
Radja was a monster player back then, every season in best 11 of Serie A.
He was valued at 45 mil, playing for Roma. –Had he played for Liverpool or Juve he’d be valued at over 75.
Inter purchased him for only 24 mil. 24 mil!!! They also offloaded Santon’s high salary & gifted Roma a kid that was with their Primavera team for barely a year.
Roma had to register a 38 mil gain for FFP; The next day they gave Inter back 14 mil.
Santon, valued at 3 mil was purchased for 9.5. LOL That kid “with potential” was valued at a mil, but purchased for 4.5. (He wasn’t even Roma’s second choice as a “free add-to-the-purchase gift”, but third or fourth.)

In the end, no one could predict Zaniolo’s rise. (Nicolo actually almost stopped playing football when, just a year before he joined Inter, Fiorentina didn’t want to keep him for free.)
His growth is only due to Di Francesco’s belief in him, the “motivational water/ soil he gave to the plant”.

Radja did his part at Inter. His goals & contribution brought Nerazzurri back to CL. When his wife got cancer, he started to decline. But even in his first year back at Cagliari, he still showed what a warrior he was…

Now, let’s look at a PARALLEL REALITY:
Radja stayed at Roma. Inter sent Zaniolo to some other club (for 3 million) where he stagnated on the bench. Santon saw out his Inter contract before joining some Turkish team…

Roma got into CL that year, not Spalletti’s Inter.
CL brought Roma 80 million, better sponsors, two great players. Inter had to sell Lautaro to meet FFP. Next year, (again without CL), they sell Brozovic.
Everyone knows Conte was in talks with Roma in our reality… But here, he actually went to Rome. (Declining Inter was not an option –Roma is on another level compared to them.)
Conte brings Lukaku, Barella & other high-profile players with him. Juventus enters crisis.
Roma wins the Scudetto. Inter again finishes outside the CL.
It is year 2022. Roma is fighting for their third Serie A title in a row & have again easily topped their CL group. Vlahovic is determined to sign for La Lupa when his contract expires as they also just snatched Skriniar from Inter for 7 million. Inter are ninth in the standings; Kumbulla is their best player & Cristante their Vice-captain…

    Long story short:
Purchasing Nainggolan was THE BEST DEAL & DECISION INTER EVER MADE!!!
