Napoli have confirmed Kostas Manolas will be out for three weeks, as he suffered a second-degree sprain and damaged the ligament in the right ankle.

The Greek defender was substituted at the Marassi and carried out tests this morning at the Pineta Grande clinic.

The Partenopei revealed he will be out for three weeks and thus misses out of the two decisive matches for coach Gennaro Gattuso against Atalanta and Juventus this week.

“Kostas Manolas, substituted in the Marassi’s match against Genoa, underwent instrumental examinations this morning, which revealed a second-degree sprain of the right ankle involving the anterior peroneal-talus ligament,” Napoli wrote in a statement.

“The player’s conditions will be assessed in three weeks. The defender has already started the rehabilitation process.”
