Greece have surprisingly left Napoli defender Kostas Manolas out of their squad to face Italy in Euro 2020 qualifying.

Manolas had been considered one of the first names on Greece’s teamsheet for the trip to his former home of the Olimpico on October 12.

However, he joins fellow stalwarts Andreas Samaris, Vasilis Torosidis and Kostas Mitroglou in being omitted, despite not being injured or banned.

The Hellenic nation also face Bosnia-Herzegovina in the upcoming international break but cannot qualify for the Finals next year.
