Palermo Coach Devis Mangia has every respect for Delio Rossi and Fiorentina, “but I want to win.”

The Rosanero fans are planning a warm welcome for Rossi, who took them to Europe and the Coppa Italia Final before walking away in the summer.

“It is only right to remember him for what he achieved with Palermo, but then we must think about the game in hand,” said current boss Mangia.

“The team and fans have to concentrate only on the victory. Personally I will thank Rossi, as if he had returned when President Maurizio Zamparini called him pre-season, I’d have remained in charge of the youth team.

“Fiorentina are a top level side who worked very well with youngsters in recent years. Obviously Stevan Jovetic is a big player for them, but it’s not as if the Viola are with 10 men while he’s injured.”

Palermo have a Jekyll and Hyde approach to their football this season, as they have won all five home games, but picked up one point on their travels without scoring a single goal.

“We do feel stronger when playing at the Barbera and because of that sensation we go beyond our real possibilities.”

Abel Hernandez is still out injured, while Mauricio Pinilla requires a late fitness test.

Palermo squad: Benussi, Brichetto, Tzorvas; Aguirregaray, Cetto, Mantovani, Munoz, Pisano, Silvestre; Acquah, Alvarez, Bacinovic, Barreto, Bertolo, Della Rocca, Di Matteo, Ilicic, Lores, Migliaccio, Simon, Zahavi; Miccoli, Pinilla
