Mangala prefers Inter to Palace

Eliaquim Mangala would prefer to join Inter, although Crystal Palace  and West Brom appear more likely destinations.

The French defender is surplus to requirements at his current club Manchester City, with the Nerazzurri having been keen on securing his signature.

However, with transfer deadline day now having arrived, the Eagles have made an offer of £25m as they attempt to bolster their defensive options under Frank De Boer.

Also in the race for Mangala are Palace’s Premier League rivals Albion. According to reports, City’s wish would be for Mangala to head to the Hawthorns due to their own desire to sign the Baggies’ Jonny Evans.

According to the BBC, Mangala’s preference would be to move away from England in order to head to Serie A, but such an eventuality appears unlikely given the current situation.

In addition to City’s desire to boost their chase for in Evans, they are also looking to sell the defender outright.

Inter’s interest, up until now, has been in taking Mangala on an initial loan deal.

The centre-back spent last season on loan at Spanish club Valencia.
