Sky Sport Italia claims that Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala has picked Fiorentina over Everton, but the Premier League side remain in the race.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina have overtaken Everton in the race for Belgium international Mangala.

Sky previously reported that Fiorentina had joined Everton in the race for the 26-year-old midfielder, and the latest update is that Mangala has picked the Tuscans over the Toffees.

Mangala picks Fiorentina over Everton – report

According to Di Marzio, Lyon are open to sending the player out on loan, so Fiorentina hope to get the deal done soon.

However, this could also mean that the Tuscans will sell Sofyan Amrabat, who has attracted interest from José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

Fiorentina announced the signing of Yacine Adli on loan with an option to buy from Milan on Wednesday.

The Tuscans face Puskas Akademia in the Conference League playoff tonight and must win away after a 3-3 draw in Florence last week.
