Maneskin frontman hits out at Milan vs. Roma ref Chiffi

Maneskin’s frontman Damiano David is among the Roma fans not impressed by Daniele Chiffi’s officiating and took to social media to criticise the referee.

The Giallorossi suffered a 3-1 loss against Milan at San Siro last night and José Mourinho harshly criticised Chiffi after the match.

Mourinho: ‘I didn’t like referee or Roma performance’

“The performance was of such a low level. If you look at the two opening goals, we gave the ball away so cheaply. The quality was really lacking today. I didn’t like the referee or my team today,” the Special One said at the end of the game.

Italian media scrutinised the officiating of Chiffi and his performance was described as ‘terrifying’ by Il Corriere dello Sport that rated the official 3/10.

According to the Rome-based paper, Tammy Abraham didn’t touch the ball with his hand, so Milan should not have been awarded a spot-kick in the first half. Italian media have also questioned Chiffi’s use of red and yellow cards.

Damiano David, commonly known as ‘Damiano’, was also not impressed by the referees’ performance and did nothing to hide his disappointment.

“Chiffi, after this, you go straight to Promozione,” which is the third tier of Italy’s non-professional leagues.

Maneskin is probably the most famous Italian rock band worldwide at the moment. They won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 and averaged more than 28,000,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
