The Croatian striker had been constantly linked with a move east after being told by Maurizio Sarri that he wasn’t in his plans at Juve.

Mandzukic had been linked to Al Rayyan and it seemed a deal was in place, only for talks to break down as Mandzukic wanted to stay in Europe.

However since then, Manchester United, who had been interested in the player, have moved on to other targets, as have Borussia Dortmund, leaving the Juve No 17 with few options.

Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio states that Al Rayyan have reopened talks with the Bianconeri about sealing a deal, and this time Mandzukic is thought to be willing to move.

Milan were also linked to Mandzukic, but his age goes against the club's new policy of focusing on younger players with resale value.

The 33-year-old hasn’t kicked a ball for Juventus this season.

He joined the club in 2015.
