“It’s always very difficult to play against Juventus,” Mandzukic told assembled media as he was officially presented.
“In particular against the defence, those were some of the most difficult matches of my career. That was part of my decision, I no longer have to play against Juventus! I’m thrilled to be playing for this team.”
The Croatian international is seen by many as the replacement for Carlos Tevez, is he feeling the pressure? “I have no particular feelings, for me that’s always how it is in the big teams. We all know that Tevez is a great player who has had a brilliant career.
“Every player builds their own career, let’s see what happens with mine.”
Mandzukic also gave the Italian journalists a helpful guide on pronouncing his name.
“My last name is pronounced ‘Mangiukic’. It’s not very difficult, or at least I hope not.”
