The winner of the award will be revealed by France Football today, and it’s expected that Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric will win the prize.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated the award in recent years, but it appears the Juventus striker and his Barcelona rival will miss out this time.

The votes are being announced in reverse order, with Hugo Lloris of Tottenham Hotspur coming in 29th, level with Isco of Real Madrid.

Mandzukic, who scored for Croatia in both the World Cup final and semi-final, has been ranked 25th alongside two goalkeepers, Alisson of Liverpool and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.

Diego Godin finished in 28th place.
