It’s reported Rolando Mandragora won’t be called-up to the Italy squad, after being given a ban for blasphemy.

The Udinese midfielder was caught swearing on camera, using a blasphemous phrase which is the rudest form of swearing in Italy.

He was given a one-match ban by the Lega Serie A, something which his club are appealing.

Mandragora was in Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri squad for the friendlies with France, the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia, but Corriere dello Sport reports the ban could cost him his place.

Mancio will reportedly apply Cesare Prandelli’s code of ethics, and the midfielder’s actions mean he can’t be called-up unless he wins his appeal.

Should he be left out, Nicolo Barella of Cagliari is the most likely candidate to replace him.
