Andrea Mandorlini insists Verona’s victory over Atalanta was “important for the club, not to save its Coach.”

“We were certainly coming off a delicate week, but I think we deserved to win,” he told Rai Sport.

“We were certainly coming off a delicate week, but I think we deserved to win,” he told Rai Sport.
“It was a great performance against an Atalanta side that will cause trouble for all their opponents this season.
“I repeat, this is an important victory for the club, not to save its Coach. Reporters often get a bit too imaginative.
“We are on track for the club objectives and don’t forget we changed 19 players over the summer. We’ll fight to the end for safety, as will Atalanta.”
