UEFA warned this week that they will not allow the Euro 2020 games to be played in empty stadiums.
“I just hope that by June we can resume for football, for the country, for the fans and for all sports. I hope they could even re-open before the Euros,” Azzurri boss Mancini told RAI Sport.
“After such a long time behind closed doors, people are tired and feel the need to get back to living some sense of normality and that means watching a game in a stadium.
“It’d be immensely disappointing if the opening fixture was played elsewhere.”
