Italy coach Roberto Mancini will extend his contract with the Azzurri until 2024, reports La Repubblica.

His contract expires in 2021, but according to the Repubblica.it, the coach has reached an agreement to stretch his stay with the national team until 2024.

The official announcement could be released during the international break next week.

His salary will rise from €2m to €3m-a-year and will include bonuses linked with results in the EURO, World Cup qualifiers and World Cup.

Mancini’s staff will see new additions, including former Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

Mancini, a former Inter and Manchester City coach, was appointed Italy CT in 2018 after the Azzurri failed to qualify for the World Cup under Gian Piero Ventura.

The Azzurri qualified for EURO 2020 under Mancini's tenure.

He won 15 of his 24 games in charge of the Italy senior team, with the Azzurri who scored 54 goals, allowing 14.

According to the report, Mancini has also discussed a new role as a supervisor of all Italy’s youth teams.
