Bologna Coach Delio Rossi is under severe pressure after a disappointing start to the season, but a 2-1 win over Carpi on Saturday offered him a lifeline.

Mancini discussed the upcoming clash in today’s Press conference, while also discussing Jonathan Biabiany, Ivan Perisic and Adem Ljajic.

“The solidity has remained, we’ve had some problems when the centre backs have been sent off or injured,” Mancini said.

“We left space to Palermo because the team was too stretched, we need midfielders and attackers for the defensive phase and to stay tight.

“I’m a Bologna fan, it will be a special match for me, as it’s the birthplace of my footballing life.

“I hope that Bologna can reach safety with time to spare and have a good season.

“Simple games don’t exist, but it depends on us. If we play like we did in the second half against Palermo, we will have a good chance.

“I haven’t seen all the teams play, but I think that Napoli and Roma are the best equipped.

“I don’t know if Biabiany can do 60-65 minutes, he’s not at 100 per cent and is gradually finding form. We will see what the solutions are, he’s important and does good work down the right.

“Nothing has changed, the objective was to remain in the top positions. Nothing serious has happened, there are five of us within two points of each other – it doesn’t seem like something dramatic to me.

“Like Kondogbia, Perisic is finding some difficulty – he’s played in the German league where teams don’t defend like they do in Italy. He can do much more, on top of just scoring goals.

“Ljajic is doing quite well, he played for 20 minutes against Palermo and did well. I believe in him a lot and will depend on him, he could give us a hand because he’s got great quality, we will see if it’s tomorrow or next time.”
