Mazzarri has again received the backing of Inter President Erick Thohir after a 1-0 victory at Cesena put an end to a series of bad results.

However, the Indonesian tycoon also warned that the Coach would be assessed over the next two games.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Thohir’s words serve as an ultimatum for Mazzarri, and should the former Napoli boss fall short of expectations, Mancini could be lined up to replace him.

The Milan-based newspaper reports that Mancini, who won three consecutive Scudetti in his spell as Inter Coach, was in the stands during the team’s victory over Cesena.

The 49-year-old is said to have spoken warmly with several club directors, including sporting director Piero Auslio and CEO Michael Bolingbroke.

Meanwhile Sportmediaset reports that in addition to the former Manchester City manager, Inter would consider a former Coach from the other half of the English city, should Mazzarri be dismissed.

David Moyes worked under Bolingbroke at Manchester United, and was, according to reports, in Milan at the weekend, having previously been spotted in the stands during the Nerazzurri’s 2-2 draw with Napoli.

Mediaset also speculates that Inter could go for an ‘in-house’ promotion, with Primavera Coach Stefano Vecchi also being a candidate in the event of any potential vacancy, having impressed the Inter hierarchy with his efforts in coaching the youth team.
