In the second part of his interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roberto Mancini claims Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri should make Serie A return and reveals who is the ‘less replaceable’ Italy player.

The Chelsea full-back has been linked with a move to Inter and Napoli in the January transfer window.

“It would be ideal for him to join an ambitious Serie A club, it would be the best thing and the same is true of [Stephan] El Shaarawhy,” Mancini said.

Leonardo Spinazzola is another option on the left for Mancini, but how about Hellas Verona’s Federico Dimarco?

“I know him well having coached him at Inter, he has good technical skills and personality. He is young and after the Euro he could have a chance. We are following him like we do with other talented players such as [Matteo] Lovato, [Nicolò] Rovella and [Tommaso] Pobega. [Mattia] Zaccagni was unlucky, he received a call-up but he picked up an injury.”

Lorenzo Insigne has probably impressed more with the national team rather than with Napoli this season.

“He is unique for us. With his link-up play, he is the less replaceable player we have," Mancini revealed.

“[Lorenzo] Pellegrini is also very important for us, he can play in every role and he always plays well, he is such a nice guy too.”

Can be a reference for Nicolò Zaniolo?

“Nicolò is only young. He will understand that he can only improve by dedicating a big slice of his day to football.”

Does Balotelli still have a chance?

“I don’t close doors on anyone, but for Mario is very difficult, same thing for [Mattia] Destro. After [Ciro] Immobile and [Andrea] Belotti there are players like [Francesco] Caputo, [Kevin] Lasagna, [Gianluca] Scamacca who are ahead in the peaking order. [Moise] Kean is doing very well too.”
