Roberto Mancini is reportedly ready to call-up Galatasaray forward Nicolo Zaniolo for Italy’s upcoming Nations League commitments.

The Azzurri will face off against Spain in the semi-finals of the Nations League on June 15 and victory in that game would take them to the final, where they’d face the winner of Croatia-Netherlands.

Mancini is now working on building his squad for the coming international break, keen to start working towards Euro 2024, the team’s first major tournament since their victorious campaign back in Euro 2020.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Zaniolo could return to the Italian national team, with Mancini ready to bring him back into the fold after his exclusions last year. He did not take part in the two Euro 2024 qualifiers against England and Malta back in March due to the earthquake in Turkey.

The Italian forward is still settling into life with Galatasaray and has disappointed in recent weeks. His last goal for the club came over a month ago and earlier in May he was shown a red card just six minutes after coming onto the pitch.
