The Paris Saint-Germain star injured his knee last Thursday and could reportedly face up to six weeks out, meaning he would miss the three games in the group stage in June.
“The important thing is that now there are no more surprises in terms of injuries, so you can easily choose,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia about the preparations for the Finals.
“Verratti’s injury is not a simple one, but I’m quite confident. I spoke to him about it, there’s a month left, and we will see in the coming weeks.”
The Azzurri CT said the atmosphere in the group has helped them develop together and believes he has created a good balance between young and experienced players.
“Our team have a specific identity and know what to do,” he said. “Then, as always, we need creativity, but we have the players suited for this.
“So far, we have focused on young players, and the experienced ones have helped us on and off the pitch.
“I think we have created a good feeling and this has been fundamental for our growth.”
