Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini insists Mario Balotelli “is the best Italian striker, though with him anything can happen.”

The Italian international was recently frozen out of a friendly against the USA and warned by Coach Cesare Prandelli about his behaviour, both on and off the pitch.

“Balotelli is the best Italian striker out there at the moment,” Mancini told Rai Sport.

“My staff and I keep track of him, though with Mario anything can happen.”

Mancio had other personnel problems in Manchester this season, as Carlos Tevez has returned to the club after a huge row.

“It was disappointing what happened, but now he is training well and will be useful for the title fight.”

The former Inter and Lazio Coach was asked what his thoughts were on the Scudetto race in Serie A.

“It’s a two-horse race between Milan and Juventus. Milan have more quality and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who changes the balance of things.

“However, Juve are tough and will not give in.”
