Italy CT Roberto Mancini insists he is not a miracle worker but knows he is ‘forced to work quickly, restore enthusiasm and build for the future’ all at once.

Mancini is a month away from celebrating a year at the helm, so far winning both of his opening Euro 2020 qualifiers and bringing through several new faces.

“I know the work I have to do, I haven’t fallen from the clouds,” he told Il Resta del Carlino.

“If you arrive when a situation is difficult, you’re forced to work quickly and, at the same time, restore enthusiasm and build for the future. We must also take risks.”

The former Inter boss was then asked about Juventus starlet Moise Kean and explained why he was ‘lucky’.

“Moise knows the path he has to take, working hard and getting stuck in,” he added.

“He’s a good lad, he has quality and he was lucky enough to break through at a time when the national team needed young players like him and Zaniolo.

“For us Italians, who are the descendants of inventors and geniuses, it’s normal to go and look out for talent.

“I’m lucky that I don’t have to buy anyone. I only need to turn and choose.”
