Roberto Mancini denies there's any 'tension' with Inter: 'You're the ones who talked about a resignation, not me'.

The 51-year-old is believed to be in rough terms with the club's new ownership, and many speculate that he will leave before the end of the summer.

The 51-year-old is believed to be in rough terms with the club's new ownership, and many speculate that he will leave before the end of the summer.

But at the end of yesterday's 1-1 friendly against Estudiantes, Il Mancio spoke to the Press and dismissed all these stories as gossip.

“You're the ones who talked about a resignation, not me,” said Mancini. “I never said that there's tension or that I'm leaving. I'm here and I'm working to improve Inter. I'm giving it everything I've got to make that happen

“It's a shame that we don't have many players available. It's a problem, because so far the pre-season games have been tiring.

“Tonight again we haven't been able to make many changes after playing well for half an hour, and in the second half we ran out of steam. I had nobody on the bench.

“I can't say whether these games could make the championship harder. I'm doing my best for Inter because I want to make sure the team is ready by the time the season kicks off. I'm not interested in any of the other talk.”

Mancini then answered two quick questions on Inter target Antonio Candreva and on the possible departure Mauro Icardi.

“Candreva is a Lazio player, not an Inter one. As for Icardi, I didn't field him because he reported feeling some pain in his shoulder this morning. There would have been no point in risking him.

“Whether I'm happy that [Erick] Thohir said that Icardi is unsellable? I'm the Coach and he's the president. I'm not meant to be happy about the things that he says.”
