“We’ll see if there will be news when we return to Appiano Gentile,” Mancini shrugged in his Press conference after a 4-1 friendly defeat to Bayern Munich.
“I don’t know what will happen. [President Erick] Thohir calls me every now and then, it’s quite normal.
“Will I have an answer after the meeting on Thursday? I don’t know, let’s see.
“Coaching and building an increasingly stronger team motivates me. Every club works hard to improve.
“I'm feeling calm because I like my job, and when we’re on the pitch any bad things are forgotten.”
Mancini then reflected on the defeat to Bayern, and admitted that the game came at a bad time for his side.
“You shouldn't play three games in six days when the players are in pre-season. It was the sort of game where everything went wrong for us – we failed to impose ourselves.
“Obviously we're missing too many players. The positive thing is that the lads here have put miles on the clock. “The matches are great here, but there's a risk of creating problems for your preparation. It was very difficult to play three games in six days with pretty much the same 11 players.
“Key players? Ever Banega and Marcelo Brozovic will be key because they are strong players with quality. Let's see if we get anyone else in.”
