Roberto Mancini explained the tactical adjustments Italy showed against Switzerland and assured they’ll ‘play to win every game’ at Euro 2020.

The Azzurri notched up a second consecutive 3-0 victory after beating Turkey, sweeping Switzerland aside with a Manuel Locatelli brace and Ciro Immobile strike.

They are qualified for the Round of 16 with a 10th consecutive victory, but not yet sure of first place.

“Switzerland are a strong side, we knew it would be a tough game and it was. We had chances, could’ve scored earlier and suffered where we had to, but deserved it at the end,” the coach told RAI Sport.

“We were struggling in the opening minutes, but then we pressed them high and forced them to make mistakes. The lads did really well, it wasn’t easy, their second game in five days and it’s so hot.

“We changed system to have a breather, as we were tired and needed to make adjustments.”

Giorgio Chiellini went off injured in the opening half-hour with a left flexor issue.

“We’ll see tomorrow and hope it’s nothing serious.”

The final Group A game with Wales will decide the winner and therefore their next fixture going forward in the Round of 16.

“We play to win every game and then we’ll see what happens. We dedicate this win to all the Italians who are suffering right now.”
