Roberto Mancini is expected to terminate his Zenit St Petersburg contract on Monday and sign on as Italy boss within 48 hours.
The Coach only took charge of Zenit last summer, but had a not particularly impressive tally of 21 wins, 13 draws and 10 defeats in all competition.
According to the Corriere della Sera newspaper, Mancini has successfully negotiated an exit strategy with Zenit that will see the contract terminated by mutual consent on Monday.
He currently earns €6m per year at the Russian club and the contract runs to June 2020.

It’s believed Mancio will then sign on as the new Italy Coach by Wednesday.
He should be given a two-year deal worth €2m per year, with a bonus to be activated with qualification for Euro 2020.
