“We didn’t do enough to win and gave away chances that we really can’t afford. The second half we got back into it and cannot do the stupid things we did at the end,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“There wasn’t much concentration from the start, even during the warm-up, and the early goal was a distraction too. The team is top of the table, a defeat can happen, but not when you gift it to the opponents. It’s really disappointing to lose that way.
“I thought our wingers could attack the space, but we didn’t do much of that in the first half and were too stretched out.
“We came out well after the break and got back on level terms, but we made mistakes and gave Lazio the victory.
“Felipe Melo unfortunately did two stupid things tonight. I think he was so annoyed at himself for the penalty that he did that foul on Biglia. What did we say? I can’t tell you that, these are things that belong in the locker room.
“We did the damage ourselves. We threw it away. Even while not playing particularly well, we shouldn’t have lost this match, but we lost our heads.”
Inter’s lead at the top of the table has been cut to just one point, while they are only four points clear of Roma in fifth place.
“We are still the leaders and pre-season we’d have happily taken this position.”
