“Tomorrow will be fundamental, because after that there are some very difficult games in the fixture list,” said Mancio in his Press conference.

The Nerazzurri are currently in joint eighth place with Torino, but only two points behind Genoa in sixth and three adrift of Sampdoria.

“I think it’s going to be a fascinating end to the season, as all the teams can challenge for a place in Europe.

“This is going to be a very delicate encounter, because Chievo are in good shape and relaxed after securing their safety. We need a great performance to win.

“I want to see the same performance we put in for the first hour against Udinese. I will decide the formation tomorrow morning.”

Lukas Podolski finally broke his Serie A duck in the 2-1 win away to Udinese, although Mancini was furious with his players for slacking off at the end against nine men.

“I am happy Podolski scored after so much bad luck. He is an exemplary professional and always played his part.

“Nemanja Vidic has also improved his fitness levels and has done very well over the last six weeks. He could start tomorrow. For a while he struggled in training, but now he’s in good shape.”
