Coach Roberto Mancini insists Inter are improving, despite losing all of their pre-season friendlies in China.

The Nerazzurri were defeated 1-0 by both Bayern Munich and Milan on their pre-season tour of China, before concluding the trip to the Far East with a 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid on Monday.

“I’d say we’re doing well, aside from the defeats which don’t make me happy,” Mancini admitted in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“There have been so many changes, we have to find the right mechanisms and conditions. We’ll train properly over the next 20 days, because these tours are stimulating, but prevent you from working as you’d like.

“Between the match against Real and the one against Bayern the team has improved a lot in terms of play and personality.

“The last one was the worst result, but we showed we can compete against a team full of star players like Real Madrid.”

Mancio also discussed the Beneamata’s new signings, including Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic, who will officially join in the next few days.

“I’m glad he [Jovetic] is coming. He has different characteristics to [Mauro] Icardi and [Rodrigo] Palacio, he’ll be very useful.

“[Geoffrey] Kondogbia needs to train well, and also learn more about his teammates. [Martin] Montoya has a lot of work to do, he’s used to a different kind of football.

“[Jeison] Murillo is better placed, but even he can only get better.”
