The Bosnian striker revealed this morning that he could have reunited with Mancini at Inter, following their spell together at Manchester City, and the Coach praised his former player.

“Roma have so many good players,” Mancio said in his Press conference as his side prepares to host the Giallorossi.

“We’ll have to pay attention to Edin, because he’s one of the best in the world, even though like Mauro [Icardi] he’s not scoring.

“He’ll score at least 15 goals though, because he has incredible quality.

“Roma can put you in trouble with Gervinho, Iago Falque, and [Mohamed] Salah if you give them too much space, so we’ll have to make sure we don’t do that.

“It’s also true that we have to play our game, we shouldn’t think of ourselves as the underdog, and they’ll have the same thought.

"Rudi Garcia? He's done very well in a difficult environment, he's built a team which always finishes near the top, and this year they're doing even better.

"He won at Lille, where it's not easy, he's perfectly suited for a club like Roma."

Roma and Napoli have been touted as Scudetto favourites, could the Nerazzurri lay down a marker in this match?

“I think so, Roma are top of the table. We know we have the opportunity to go top of the League, and that’s our goal.

“Then we’re going to Napoli, and within a month we’ll have faced all the strongest teams. If we get through that unscathed, the situation could be looking very pretty.

“I’ve already said that Roma and Napoli have known each other well for years, and that’s an advantage. If Inter can beat Roma it would give us something more, but I think Inter can fight at the front.”

The Beneamata have scored just 10 goals in their opening 10 games, but the Coach insists his side are not playing badly.

“It’s a strange thing,” Mancini admitted.

“It’s like when a great striker doesn’t score for several months. With the chances we’ve had, it’s definitely strange.

“In the end though, if you win you’re happy. And if you win you usually deserve it. Even when we’ve won 1-0 we’ve deserved it, despite the strangeness of not being able to score.

“Luckily the defence has held firm.”
