According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy coach Roberto Mancini called Gigio Donnarumma yesterday, while Juventus are once again interested in the PSG star.

Donnarumma is in the spotlight after a costly error against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday night. The 23-year-old sparked the Merengues’ comeback at the Bernabeu by losing the ball inside the box, leading to Karim Benzema’s equaliser.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, Italy coach Roberto Mancini called the 23-year-old yesterday to reassure him. The Azzurri will play the World Cup play-offs against North Macedonia in less than two weeks.

The pink paper also reports that Juventus have resumed their interest in the ex-Milan goalkeeper who is considering his future in Paris. The 23-year-old has never really felt loved in the France capital and could consider his options at the end of the season.

Juventus are long time admirers of Donnarumma and held talks with his agent Mino Raiola before he signed with PSG last summer. It remains to be seen how much PSG would ask for their star and how the Old Lady would manage Wojciech Szczesny, who has a contract until June 2024 in Turin.

The player’s salary may also be an issue as Donnarumma is on an €8m-a-year deal in Paris and Juventus could take advantage of the so-called ‘Growth Decree’, a discount of 50 per cent on the gross salaries moving to Italy from abroad, only from 2023.

  1. No, we can’t afford to pay a goal keeper that much. We will only wait till he accepts a paycut

  2. Donnarumma’s current woes are pure karma, I’m afraid. Nothing less than the greedy, disloyal scumbag deserves.

  3. To the AC fans why don’t you ask your club why they didn’t offer him more if he left purely for money?!!! Decisions were made by both parties. Get over it and move on!

  4. These days it’s hard to tell between Viola fans and AC fans. Do the Italians who support AC also wish bad performances on Donnarumma when he plays for the national team. I think not, double standards.

  5. Anyone blaming Donnarumma…which is very dumb.
What about the other TWO goals??? Is it his fault too?
The coach should of switch tactics and take off Neymar and bring on a defensive mid to support the defense, as Real Madrid needed another TWO goals to qualify.

This is 2022, you cant be saying one mistake cause the team to crumble, is not like PSG playing with 9 men.

Blame the entire team, not one little incident!

  6. That was afoul on donnarumma and should have been called.

Also FI released game stats that show PSG played poorly and that is why they lost. Kenan you are correct a def MF would have certainly held the fort.

Also Donna and Ronaldo should have been there back in july and juv would be tops, they’ll still manage it I find.
