The Beneamata were defeated 1-0 by the German champions in Shanghai earlier today, and the Coach spoke to the media after the match.

“It was a good game,” Mancini told journalists in his post-match Press conference.

“Obviously, since we were playing against one of the best teams in the world right now, it wasn’t an easy match.

“They’re a great team, they play good football, they have good players and a good Coach [Pep Guardiola].

“We’re definitely not at their level right now, but we have to improve. That means we have to grow in terms of our play and results.

“We’re still not at the same physical stage they are, and we were lacking a little bit when we had good chances to score goals.

“We made some mistakes, but it was a good performance.”

The match saw several new signings deployed by the Nerazzurri, and Mancio was impressed by what he saw.

“[Jeison] Murillo made a good impression, he has personality and is strong physically. I’m disappointed because he got a little injury, but I don’t think it’s anything serious.

“[Geoffrey] Kondogbia played well, he’s only been training with us for 10 days, and I think he needs more time to reach his peak, but I’m happy with his performance.”
