The striker has improved considerably in recent months under Mancio’s tutelage and finally broke his senior Azzurri duck in last night’s 2-0 win over Poland.
“I am very happy for Balotelli, it’s pleasing to know he played well and scored a goal too,” Mancini told RAI.
The tactician is in Abu Dhabi for the Formula One Grand Prix today.
“I didn’t see the game because I was travelling, but I read that Balotelli did well.
“I’m happy and we all hope he can continue like this. He really does deserve it.”
