Roberto Mancini has announced his 30-man squad for Italy’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against England and Malta.

The Azzurri are gearing up for their first competitive outings since their Nations League wins over the Three Lions and Hungary back in September, and things have already started to change under the watchful eye of Mancini.

Mancini has now confirmed his 30-man Italy squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against England on March 23 and Malta on March 26, revealing a few surprises.

Three uncapped players have been handed their first Italy call-ups – Tigre striker Mateo Retegui, Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone and Torino centre back Alessandro Buongiorno.

A number of expected regulars return, including Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nicolo Barella and Federico Chiesa. Also given a chance after years of absence are Matteo Darmian and Alessio Romagnoli, who made their last Italy appearances back in 2018 and 2020 respectively.

  1. Strange that Mancini and Zaccagni didn’t make it.

The former was probably left out because he’s a red card waiting to happen.

Hard to see where the goals will come from.

  2. Hes still calling up Bonucci?? Romanogli?? @Ferban, Mancini is no angel but hes certainly no worse than Chellini, its an absolute scandal hes not in the squad.
