Manchester United are expected to make an improved offer for Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic as Erik ten Hag strongly wants to reunite with the Austria international.

The former Inter striker moved to the Stadio Dall’Ara a year ago, but could already be on his way out as the Red Devils are pushing to secure his signature.

Bologna have already rejected an €8-9m bid from the Red Devils who are now expected to make a new offer for the experienced forward.

His agent confirmed Manchester United’s bid on Sunday.

Sky Sport in Italy and Germany claim the Premier League side will soon make an improved proposal to sign the 33-year-old who is seen as a top target by their new boss Erik ten Hag who already worked with him at FC Twente.

Florian Plettenberg claims the former Ajax tactician ‘wants him [Arnautovic] 100 %’ and, likewise, the player wants to move to Old Trafford.

Arnautovic scored 15 goals in 34 competitive appearances with Bologna in 2021-22.

He won the Treble with Inter in 2009-10 but only managed three appearances during under José Mourinho.

  1. I can’t really see or understand what Man Utd trying to build here.
All seems just random bid and panic buy, look at their squad now (beside Ronaldo).
There are no balance and chemistry of the squad.

  2. It really makes no sense this move. It’s great for Arnautovic, but what sort of plan going forward are they implementing.
